The Stepwise Tap™ is a UL-listed Energy Management System (EMS) that installs inline with high-load appliances to prevent service upgrades by managing appliance level demand on 60–200A panels. Tap can be used indoor or outdoors.
It offers two modes of control:
1) Dynamic EV Charger Throttling: For compatible EV chargers (Wallbox, Grizzl-E) and vehicles (all Tesla models), Tap dynamically adjusts charging output in real time based on available capacity—acting more like a dimmer switch than an on/off toggle causing hard shutoffs.
2) Load Shedding for All Other Appliances: For water heaters, hot tubs, pool pumps, and other 240V loads, Tap safely shuts off the appliance when usage exceeds safe thresholds, then restores power once capacity is available.
This allows contractors to safely install large appliances without overloading existing electrical panels
